Yellow Frangipani by Lynette Anstey

ARTIST NOTES: Every year as the weather warms this beautiful frangipani towers over my deck and showers me with flowers all summer. This work is part of "My Garden Series". It has a "sister" painted in a similar style, but the colour is in tropical warm apricot tones.

ARTIST BIO

Lyn Anstey is an accomplished artist who won her first art prize at age 7. Lyn has since held solo and joint exhibitions and has won a number of awards over the years.

Born in Queensland, raised and educated in New South Wales and a long term resident of Adelaide, Lyn moved to the Riverland town of Loxton three years ago.

Although a self-taught artist Lyn has always sought advice from her peers, attends workshops and earlier in her career had the good fortune to be mentored by noted Australian artist, the late Robert Doyle.  Lyn mainly works with oils and acrylics creating landscapes and cityscapes, the scenes taken from both everyday life and her travels around Australia.

Recently she painted a series of art titled 'My Garden' for the 2017 SALA Festival. This One Woman Show held at the The Unley, a popular hotel in an inner suburb of Adelaide and was a great success.

2018 is lining up to be just as exciting with the opening of her Studio. Upcoming solo exhibitions will include SALA and Rose Week.
